Commuter Connection PA

Bus

SEPTA operates 121 bus lines, with 7 bus lines (plus one alternate route) entering Norristown.  The 90, 93, 96, 97, 98, 99 and 131 lines all originate at the Norristown Transportation Center and spread out in all directions.  These bus lines connect with the Schuylkill River Trail, the Perkiomen Trail, the Cross County Trail and the Wissahickon Green Ribbon Trail – offering excellent opportunities for multi-modal commuting to and from Norristown, PA.

All SEPTA buses feature a front-mounted bicycle rack that accommodates two bikes.  If both slots are occupied, commuters wishing to bring their bike with them will need to wait for the next bus, as bicycles are not allowed inside the bus at any time.  Folding bicycles are allowed on buses at all times, provided they are completely folded prior to boarding.

Tokens for the buses are $1.55 a piece, and can be purchased at Transit Centers, online, at SEPTA ticket sales offices and some local retailers.  Trips without a ticket cost $2.00 on the bus.  Buses traveling between zones have additional fares, and exact change is needed.  Monthly passes are available online, while day, week and month passes are available at SEPTA sales offices.  Prices vary according to what zones you are traveling between.
