Bicycle

Bicycle commuting is is a movement that is growing in popularity locally, nationally and internationally.  Commuters who travel by bike start their day off with physical activity that burns calories, wakes up muscles, sharpens mental focus, improves mood and leads to higher productivity – all while being lighter on the wallet and environment than typical auto-oriented commuting.  Philadelphia already has the highest percentage of daily bicycle commuters (1.8%) out of the 10 largest US cities, and are number 10 out of the 70 largest US cities.

Many people, however, remain uncomfortable about biking to work due to concerns about the weather, safety, physical fitness, or proximity to bicycle infrastructure (like bike trails).  Commuter Connection PA provides many resources to help address these concerns, and increase awareness of safe, healthy bicycle commuting practices.  On this webpage you will find maps, brochures, posters, blogs and links to helpful and informative webpages that will help you to get started with a healthier, more sustainable daily commute!
