Improve Job Access with Multi-Modal Transit!

Commuter Connection PA is dedicated to improving job and transit accessibility via multi-modal transit.  A new Brookings Institute report says that 77% of residents in the Greater Philadelphia area live near transit, but that only 24% of jobs are found near transit stations.  Adding a bicycle is an excellent way to improve these numbers!  People can typically only cover about 1 mile in 15-20 min of walking, while a bicycle can increase that range to 3-4 miles in the same amount of time.  This can drastically decrease transit time, and increase the distance a commuter can easily travel between a transit stop or station and their place of employment.  More over, cyclists can easily travel between transit lines quickly and efficiently, reducing travel time when there is not a connecting SEPTA line.

People traveling on regional rail, trolley or subway lines during rush hour should try using a folding bicycle.  Many of these bikes are light weight, easy to carry on and off transit lines, and have the benefit of being allowed on all SEPTA vehicles at all times.
